On this camper tour through the south of Germany, you will cross the Bavarian Alps and can hardly save yourself from photo opportunities. A new highlight awaits you around every bend, we promise. From Lake Constance, the German Alpine Road takes you through the Pfaffenwinkel to the Berchtesgaden National Park. Again and again, quaint villages and clear mountain lakes (some of which you're allowed to camp at) pop up, and you'll wonder after every view if it can get any more beautiful.

Lindau

The island on the eastern shore of Lake Constance is about 70 hectares in size, making it the second largest island in the "Swabian Sea". Buildings with centuries-old facades, alleys full of stories, parks to linger in, villa streets to stroll along and secluded bays with impressive views - you can discover all this and much more in Lindau.

With its winding alleys and medieval buildings, the old town has a very special charm that many consider Mediterranean. The statue of the Bavarian Lion and the stone Lindau Lighthouse overlooking the lake and mountains are located in the harbor. The 12th-century Mangturm, a former watchtower with a pointed tiled roof, stands on the lakeside promenade at the harbor.

Scheidegg

Scheidegg is located on a high plateau above Lake Constance in the border triangle of Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Here you will find everything you need for a spa, recreation or activity stay: closeness to nature, inspiration and a variety of leisure activities.

Bad Hindelang

Around Bad Hindelang in the Allgäu, hikers and via ferrata fans will find pristine nature, breathtaking views and waterfalls. Explore the most beautiful hiking trails of all levels of difficulty or try challenging via ferrata routes. The focus is on exercise, health, wellness, enjoyment and adventure.

Pfronten

Surrounded by high alpine peaks such as the Breitenberg at 1838 meters and the striking Aggenstein (1986 m) on one side and the open foothills of the Alps on the other, the region offers outdoor fun at its best. Hikers and mountain bikers will find an extensive network of trails between meadows, rivers, idyllic lakes and a beautiful mountain world that leaves nothing to be desired. Winter sports enthusiasts get active with skiing, tobogganing or cross-country skiing.

Neuschwanstein Castle

Neuschwanstein Castle, which King Ludwig II had built on a craggy cliff in picturesque mountain scenery starting in 1869, was intended, as he wrote to Richard Wagner, to rise "in the true style of the old German knight's castles." Today, Neuschwanstein is one of the most visited castles and palaces in Europe. Around 1.4 million people visit "the castle of the fairy-tale king" every year.

Oberammergau

The town of just under 5,100 inhabitants is world-famous for its Passion Plays, which have been performed here in the Passion Theater every ten years since the plague year of 1633 with the broad participation of Oberammergau's inhabitants. Also famous are its traditional folk arts, which are still actively practiced today: Whether pottery, wood carving, barrel and glass painting or "Lüftlmalerei".

Garmisch-Patenkirchen

With its location in the midst of breathtaking mountain scenery at the foot of the 2,962-meter-high Zugspitze, Garmisch-Partenkirchen is the epitome of tremendous and pristine alpine nature. Garmisch-Partenkirchen touches you with its originality, its liveliness and its Bavarian charm. Day trippers from the surrounding area are also drawn here for hiking tours, mountain bike rides or in winter for skiing.

Walchensee

The Walchensee, with a maximum depth of 190 m, has the shape of a triangle and is located 75 km south of Munich in the middle of the Bavarian Alps. Bordered to the north by the mountain massifs of the Herzogstand and Jochberg, to the south Walchensee offers a view of the summit panorama of the Karwendel mountains. Throughout all seasons, it is popular with vacationers and day-trippers alike, also due to its many sights and excursion destinations.

Bad-Tölz

In the midst of idyllic natural landscapes and picturesque peaks of the foothills of the Alps lies Bad Tölz. Treat yourself to some time out and relax in the nature, which is more beautiful than in any picture book: flowering meadows and gentle hills. High peaks and deep lakes. Quiet forests and fragrant herbs.

The charming old town of Bad Tölz is also just waiting to be discovered by you! Walk in the footsteps of the town's 800-year-old history and take a stroll to the historic town gate. From the Calvary Church you have a magnificent view over the city.

Schliersee

Schliersee, located about 50 kilometers southeast of Munich at an elevation of 777 meters above sea level, is popular with vacationers and day-trippers alike because of its many sights and destinations. From the production of Bavarian whisky, to a rapid descent from the Schliersbergalm, to the idyllic mountain lake Spitzingsee, you will experience a variety of attractions for the whole family here. Popular for swimming in summer, many vacationers come in winter for the nearby ski resorts of Spitzingsee and Sudelfeld.

Reit im Winkl

Here you can have a lot of fun and experience adventures: Rafting, canyoning, climbing or hiking. Unspoiled nature, high moors and the mountain wilderness can be experienced on a well-developed network of hiking and biking trails on the high plateaus. The view of the surrounding mountain panorama and Lake Chiemsee rewards the efforts of the ascent. Not to be missed is a stop at one of the rustic and cozy alpine huts.

Berchtesgaden

Nine mountain ranges frame Berchtesgaden in the shape of a heart, separating Bavaria from the Salzburg region. Despite intensive alpine and tourist tradition, our mountains have preserved their intact and original mountain landscape. This has been guaranteed since 1978 by the Berchtesgaden National Park, which encompasses a large part of the Berchtesgaden Alps and preserves their naturalness. High mountains, deep valleys and crystal clear mountain rivers characterize the Berchtesgaden National Park right on the border with Austria.
