Mallorca, one of Spain's Balearic Islands, offers various activities and attractions. Explore the coastline for picturesque beaches and coves perfect for sunbathing and swimming, head to the island's rugged mountain ranges for hiking, or stroll through the charming towns. Moreover, Mallorca is also a party destination with nightlife well-known throughout Europe.

Good to Know:

  • Getting There: There are many low-cost flights to Palma de Mallorca Int'l Airport from all over Europe. However, if you're coming from outside Europe, fly into one of Spain's major airports first. You can even take a ferry from mainland Spain to Mallorca if you prefer to avoid flying!
  • Getting Around: For the full experience, rent a car. Buses are also available and will suffice for a trip to the beach.
  • Where to Stay: The south coast of Mallorca is dominated by tourism, especially from Germany. This is the place to stay for a beach or party vacation. If you prefer to stay away from the tourist areas, head north to Deìa or Alcúdia or east to Cala d'Or.
  • When to Visit: Visit during the summer (May-September) when restaurants and bars are open, and the Mediterranean is warm enough for a swim. However, the island is beautiful all year round!
  • How Long to Visit: A trip to Mallorca can range from a long weekend to several weeks, depending on the trip you're planning.

Highlights:

Palma and S'Arenal:

Palma is the capital and largest city and has an enchanting historic quarter. Nearby is S'Arenal, a partying district. Here you'll find a crazy nightlife, dominated by German tourists and "beer culture," as well as beaches and water sports.

Deìa:

Deìa is a small village with picturesque landscapes and historical significance as a center of artistic and literary activity. The surrounding areas of Valdemossa, Coll d'Honor, and Torre de Cala en Basset offer stunning views and outdoor activities such as hiking and climbing.

Drach Caves:

The Drach Caves are a series of underground limestone caves on the island's east coast, famous for their impressive stalactites and stalagmites and an underground lake.

Landscapes:

Take a road trip through the winding mountain roads of inland Mallorca for spectacular views. Moreover, Mallorca's coastline is home to many stunning calas, a series of small coves, and beaches scattered around the island. They are so remote that many coves are only accessible by boat.
